I can't take it anymore!
by BlackWolf inmy dad was recently made an elder about maybe 6 months ago, and now he is never around he's always at work or doing some kind of jw crap.
now he conducts the watchtower study and is even doing the special talk tommorow.
he's become an even more strict controlling jerk than he was before, and i'm never allowed to go out and do anything non jw related because he doesn't have the time.

Hey b wolf...just think of all the fun you can have as an elders brat. You can get away with pretty well anything. Goofing talk assignments for a start. Think positive ...lol..! -

Just because the JW'S are wrong doesnt mean theres no god.
by atomant inl;ve been giving this some serious consideration lately.l dont have all the answers no one does.we are all entitled to our opinions.l certainly dont believe in evolution as lve researched that subject extensively.lt's important to believe in something even if its for mental health.l believe everything happens for a reason.l also believe if we all live as close to the 10 commandments as possible this world would be a far better place to live and no one can argue with that.

The thread title is wrong. It should read:
" because there is no god.....Jehovah's witnesses are wrong"

in the opening post :

i suppose it would be helpful if the literature was printed in their language.

Is the 'growth™' still being hyped?
by punkofnice inwhen i was a member of watchtower corporation, i regularly heard how it must be the true religion because of the growth™.
(phenomenal, apparently).. i wonder if they still hang onto this?
has it been boasted about at meetings recently?

growth--?--such as:
drastic cuts in the numbers of kingdumb halls being built or refurbished.
doing away with district servants.
...do...special pioneers
....do....lots of bethel staff.
cutting the pages and frequency of magazines.

i went to twickers in the early 60's--on 2 occasions.--as a youngster.
the first time i recall staying in a rented room full of cats hairs--and i was asthmatic. i was with my mum. i persuaded her to let me stay at a main railway station all evening--i was an avid trainspotter. imagine that happening these days !.
the second time i slept in the tent camp at the stadium--great fun--loads of kids together. i dont think i ever heard a word of the programme--always up to mischief with the other kids.
in my teens and early 20's--i dont honestly remember ever reading a watchtower or an awake--except for the sunday study articles. i may have learned maybe half a dozen bible verses by rote.

jw.org cart days numbered?
by jookbeard inreading a report of an elder in a friends cong has been hiding and spying on the pioneers who seem to have a practise of dumping the cart and finding a local coffee shop, i've noticed that they do this in my local high street as well but this week they seemed to be all huddled around the cart, they've clearly been warned, a vast percentage of the time i see they seem to be more interested in fiddling with their mobile phones and gossiping, is just seems these carts are a means for the pioneers to turn in "easy time" i wonder what sort of figures show how much literature is being taken by the public?
i bet its very minimal.
naturally the gb would say they are a phenomenal success , we clearly know they are not.

i made the decision armageddon was nonsense--back in 1971. i will stick with that decision. if i'm wrong--then so be it.
however--
so far--so good.
